This photo shows 3 of our members at our club booth in 2002. Our club owes its longtime survival to the late Elton Cox, the man in the red cap. He served as club President for over a decade. There were a few years when he and our Vice President held meetings when they were the only two present. If you're from Brownwood, you may have seen Elton with his metal detector, hunting somewhere around town. He was one of the most dedicated detectorists I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was still hunting at age 90. Proof that this hobby has lots of health benefits.
