Hi Members! I hope each of you are preparing to have a wonderful and productive New Year in 2019! Our club is going to start it off on the right foot because our regular monthly meeting fell on New Year's Day this time.
Meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Early Chamber of Commerce Bldg. at 104 E. Industrial Blvd. in Early, Texas. Visitors are always welcome and encouraged to attend! Free refreshments available at the meeting.
We are going to have a very busy meeting Tuesday night as we have two contests ending (Pop-Top Challenge & Member Recruitment Contest) and prizes will be awarded to the winners of each.
Because we have so much planned for the meeting, we will not have an after-meeting program.
Our club t-shirt order came in this month so we will have at least 2 shirts in every size available at the meeting. Cost is $10 each but the bill came to $124 because the 3XLarge shirts cost $13 each. We also came up $10 short for a Large t-shirt after the last meeting because Travis collected $10 for one but both of the remaining Large shirts were gone when the meeting was over. We will also entertain a motion to raise the prices for our next order of t-shirts (probably in March or April, 2019) to $15 per shirt. That way, the club will make a little money for our treasury and we won't be forced to raise prices on the larger sizes which many of our members wear. They will all be $15 each.
If your CTTC Membership Dues are due in January, 2018, please remember to pay them at this meeting. Everyone is current on their dues except for one member whose dues were due last October. If those dues are not paid by the end of January, that member will be removed from our Members Roster. There are 6 of us whose dues are due in January. I'm one of those so I'll be paying mine before the meeting starts.
Member Recruitment Contest. The member who signs up the most new members, who pay their dues by the end of the January 1st meeting, will win the Brilliant Uncirculated 1964-D silver Kennedy half dollar. New members that you recruit must write your name, as the referring member, on their Membership Application form in order for that member to be counted in your total. I'm not eligible to participate in this contest. In the event of a tie, for example two members both recruit 1 new member, we will start the contest all over for the month of January through the February 5th meeting, and every member's referral number will drop back to 0 so that every one has another chance to win. Remember that every new member who signs up and pays their dues at this meeting will receive a free treasure book by Charles Garrett. These books were generously donated by Garrett Metal Detectors.
As always, we will have a Marble Draw at the end of the meeting and the person who draws the red marble first will split the pot 50/50 with the club. And we will have a Door Prize Drawing for a beautiful silver Franklin half dollar which is the 1st Prize and 3 more additional prizes for the runners-up.
Be sure to bring your best metal detecting finds for this month to the meeting and enter them into our Finds of the Month Contest. We are all starting out with -0- F.o.t.M. points so now's the time to get on the board!
Support our club by attending meetings and participating in our numerous events and activities for 2019!
Hope to see you at the meeting!
